  • Uninstalling

I had that problem couple of times. I had to locate the inf file and select install with the hardware wizard. Everything was fine then. I did not have any problems.

You should not be uninstalling using the setup program. That *installs* drivers. It won't uninstall anything. Matrox has a separate program for driver installation.

You should not be using the inf, "good health to all." After using Matrox's uninstaller, you should install Windows' Standard PCI VGA driver and run the setup program.

If everything is working fine, I would do anything. But if you have problems, you should use the installation method people on the forums (and Matrox) recommend:

    Download the uninstaller.

Decompress the Matrox drivers into their own folder.

Run the uninstaller (and not the setup program. That comes later).

Reboot. When you get back into Windows, you will be prompted to install drivers. Install the "Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA)" drivers. Reboot.

In Standard PCI VGA mode, run Matrox's setup program. When the drivers have finished installing, you will be prompted to reboot.

      Uninstalling

Can someone help me with the uninstalling process?

when I try reinstalling using the setup.exe, it tells me that the necessary files have been copied (which I know they haven't coz the copying finishes WAY too quick), but when I restart windows detects the g400 and tries to install drivers for it. The way I work around this is to locate the mgafold/w9x_530 folder which works, but I think the improper uninstalling is causing problems elsewhere in my system...
