  • No anti aliasing

    Hello everyone
My Matrox Millenium G200 LE(8 MB)doesn't seem to be doing any anti-aliasing.
Games like Star Wars (Rogue Squadron) and Quake-3 show jaggies quite
prominently. Is it supposed to be like that or is there some setting
that needs to be changed? This thing has been there right from the
beginning. My Powerdesk version is 5.52.015 and the video bios is 2.6-20
    I haven't changed the default settings.Please help,thanks

    Ovi

    My system:P3-450,64MB, Chipset i440 ZX
    I am on Win98 with DirectX 7
    AGP aperture-64 MB

The G200 can do anti-aliasing. The drivers don´t have an option to turn it on/off, the game itself must suport it. Try Rollcage demo or X-demo, they have options to enable fsaa. Q3 doesn´t support fsaa, for sure.
But... you don´t want antialiasing with the G200, trust me. It´s a feature that isn´t "free". Full screen antialiasing (fsaa) is done by rendering the picture in double resolution and then downsampling it. Like with a 640x480 screen res antialiased, the G200 is actually rendering it at 1280x960. Are you able to play anything smooth at this res?
