It's not easy to explain, but when I sidestep it appears as if the whole map studders alot & the frame rate drops to near nothing. It's really weird. I thought it might be an issue of not using the TurboGL driver so I installed that and it made it worse. Mind you i'm not much of a fan of Quake 3, I have maybe played it for a total of 1 hour, but it's really annoying, I see it the most when playing in single player mode going up against Phobos.

I had the same sort of occurance for little while under Systemshock2. I would be playing, and when i jinked/slid sideways, it would become almost to a system locked state. after a minute or two, it dissappeared. and it only happened a few times. I reinstalled the same drivers, and it seemed to fix it, but it still makes me wonder. All i can suggest is reinstall your directx 7a and try it. same with the PD your using. drop back a few versions of the PD as well, and see if its still there... Hope that helps.
