    I am pretty sure that powerstrip has a setting to disable vsync...I don't know if it works or not, let me know

        Syncing with refresh rate or not is up to the display *driver*.

        You have to wait for Matrox to release drivers that provide some control over this option. No third party software can provide this independently of the display driver.

          You're right that, until a driver comes out that supports a particular feature, no third party software can enable or disable it.

          However, there may be some undocumented support for a feature, and third party software *could* conceivably support it.

          Things like "vsynch" are usually stored in the registry and could be manipulated by the driver, a software package, or even manually.

          I would watch these forums closely for info on where the Win2K registry settings go.
