  • Comp reboots or crashes while running SC

Hi. I have alot of problems while running starcraft. Sometimes my computer reboots after a while (30mins to 2 hours). Sometimes it crashes and i get a file corruption. Sometimes i may even get a file exception 06. And sometimes it freezes and i get very weird graphics and colors appearing and my power off button doesnt work and i need to turn off power. Anyways this proble also happens with other 2d and 3d games but alot less. And the CD works fine on another computer. Since my computer is new i didnt test it with old matrox drivers so i know nothing about what could be the proble. Hope someone can help.

    I use the following:
    P3 600mhz (not overclocked)
    P3c-2000 i820 chipset (1020.008 beta bios)
    G400 mill (5.52 drivers)
    directx 7.0a
    creative sndblaster pci 128
    viewsonic 17" e771-4
    atapi 44x cdrom
    128 meg ram

I would make sure your AGP divider is set to 2/3 and not 1/1 in your bios.

Other than that, it sounds to me like a possible heating problem.

Try opening the case and playing it, and if it does freeze/get weird colors stick your hand inside the case and feel if its really warm or not.
