  • An odd System Shock2 problem.....

The 5.52 drivers have got the graphics engine working again! whoopee!

So I installed it, put on my old saved game and started it up. Wandered around fine for a while, then went through a bulkhead, where it loaded the next section.

The program promptly died, and spat me back to windows without even an error message to my name.

this happens every time I try it.

I like the 5.52 drivers in everything else, and I'd prefer not to have to go back to 5.30 just for SS2. Anyone got any ideas what it could be?

    Virtual memory issues or something?

    thanks guys

I am using the 5.52.015 drivers, and have had no problems with SS2 what so ever. Runs pretty damn smooth to be exact. I almost have the same set up as you, so who knows what could be the problem.

Could be an l2 cache thing? only thing off the top of my head.

I remember having a similar problem whilst playing this superb game. In the end, I re-installed it (keeping my savegames) and went back to an earlier savegame. I don't think this problem is driver-related.

Righty then, I'll try another saved game and a reinstall.

        thanks for that.
