  • BumpMapped GLQuake1.13a

Has anyone tried the (unofficial, unsupported) GLQuake (yes..Quake 1...), which purports to support bump-mapping?

When I load it up, the screen is garbled during the 'loading blowfish.mdl' or whatever console bit, and as soon as the game begins, it crashes back to the desktop, re-setting it to 640x480x16...

Does anyone have any experience with this thing?

G400Max, using the latest drivers etc....

Matrox's bumpmapping is a part of Direct-X, not OpenGL. I belive there have been posts on this before, you should try a search.

Yeah, I know that Matrox's EMBM is under DirectX and GLQuake is OpenGL. I didn't say it supported EMBM, just that it claims to feature some kind of 'bump mapping'. As I'm having trouble running it on a Matrox card, Matrox Gaming seemed the appropriate choice...

Nonetheless, thanks for mentioning that it'd already been discussed - I'll do a search!
