Not working, how? Games simply don´t give you the option to select a higher res or when do you select it it doesn´t work?

D3D games run fine in all res in my win2k rig.

Check if you have the correct monitor drivers installed (is it plug and play?). Check also in dxdiag (start->run. type dxdiag. Go to "more help"->"override" and set it to default. You may be overriding the refresh rate to a value that your monitor can only handle at 640x480)
