Has MS ever produced an OS that was problem free?

Actually I'm running Win2K on my Athlon sys and generally speaking runs games very good... but if I were you I'd wait. Support for it isn't upto par yet (hardware/drivers/utiities) and Win98 is better suited for gaming/multimedia at the moment IMHO.

No problems here. Only the DualHead on NT/win2k is a little rough, but should be fixed in Servicepack 1 (out in June/July?). There is no significant drop in framerate on OpenGL games. I like it.. Its alot more stable, and no drastic gaming difference. CS/HL, Q3 and UT all run as good in win2k as in win98.

I say do it. I did it, or first run a dualboot for a couple of months just to test it.

      Win2K drivers: 5.03

In case it's a harware problem:

      Win2K drivers: 5.52

Some games are still lacking in patches for win2k, like BattleZone 2, Worms 3, Phantom Menace & Dungeon Keeper 2. These all fail to run!
