  • matrox g400 refresh under windoz 2k

is it possible to use a refresh rate higher than 85hz ?

    under win 98 with a 1280 x 1024 res,the refresh is 110 hz , and whit a 1024 x 768 res ,it reaches 150 hz.

    any tip ?

    thank you

For now, you can use PowerStrip, or some other third party video utility to force your refresh rates, but if you want to use the matrox monitor settings tab, you will have to wait until the release of PD with those settings inside, which will be appearing sometime soon, I would think

I think those options, the same as those DH options, which are primitive are a NT/Win2K problem and will be solved in SP1 out in June/July. I heard that somewhere and isn't official news. So let's hope for the best.
In case it's a harware problem:
      PIII-500@560, 256 MB, G400 MAX DH on, ABIT BH6, MX300
      Win2K drivers: 5.52

Nah, unlike the DH issues, this is something which an existing piece of software has no trouble doing (Powerstrip), and other vendors have done successfully (ATI, et al). So I don't know why Matrox is having such a tough time with it... unless their software used all WinNT function calls to do the mode changing... which I kinda doubt.
