    Maggi,

    I UPed the cache to 64 but didn't see a way to disable pre-caching. I must be blind. UPing the cache helped a little but same basic problem. I think I'm going to try the 4.05 D3D dll and see wat happens.

    Thanks again,

    Dave

        Sorry Dave,

        I should have told you that it's only accessible through the unrealtorunament.ini ...

        Scroll down to

        Code:
        [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
        UsePrecache=True
        Set to 'False' and try again.

        Also have a look at my D3D settings, because some of the options are defaulted to 'ugly-mode' and some are not even affected by changing 'em through the adv. prefs.

        Code:
        [D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice]
        Translucency=True
        VolumetricLighting=True
        ShinySurfaces=True
        Coronas=True
        HighDetailActors=True
        UseMipmapping=True
        UseTrilinear=True
        UseMultitexture=True
        UsePageFlipping=True
        UsePalettes=True
        UseFullscreen=True
        UseGammaCorrection=True
        DetailTextures=True
        Use3dfx=False
        UseTripleBuffering=True
        UsePrecache=True
        Use32BitTextures=True
        UseVSync=False
        Have fun and give some feedback,
        Maggi

          The problem is solved It actually didn't help me to turn off pre-caching, but when I was looking in my .ini file, I noticed that I had a line that read:

          Use VideoMemoryVB=False

          What's up with that? So I changed it to true and all problems solved. It kind of irritates me that it was something so stupid that should have never been false. Thanks everyone for all of your help.
