I just want to apologize to Manifest for seeming to "quit" while I was losing on the MGI UT server tonight. I really didn't- every time I changed a setting, UT (420 patch) disconnected from the server, forcing me to reconnect. The final straw was when the game locked up in the middle of a match.

Not to say that I wasn't getting my butt kicked by ya', hehe. I may have put up a little better fight without those problems though. Maybe another night.

You weren't the only one getting kicked off

We'll be updating UT to 4.20 sometime today so we'll see what happens tonite.

Glad to see that it wasn't simply another case of "server-side discrimination".

      LOL.

Thanks for keeping the server up to date so well, too, Haig. It's the best place to play right now. Also, most of the evening that I connect I can find one or two others there to play with/against now. So it IS getting more use.

For the most part you've got Dakken and I by default, as our firewall won't let us get the server list off of the gamespy server, and we happen to know the address of the Matrox server from the forum. Not be disloyal or anything, but if anyone knows of any other good servers that they play on when there isn't somebody on the murc, it would be handy to have some good back-ups

How do you manage that Elyas? I'm behind a corporate firewall and if I try to connect to the MGI TS server directly, Q3A just waits to receive the challenge.

Somehow or other we managed to convince them to open up port 7777, which is what all the servers are on. This lets us connect, but the master index server isn't on port 7777, so we can't get a list

Thanks, guessed as much. I didn't think there was a way to get this to work w/o punching a hole in the firewall. I'm leeching off of my wife's company's DSL (at home), so I don't have any influence over their IT. Oh well, back to the bots.
