  • MDK2 WORKS in WinMe!!

Thanks to Flip-Oh who suggested the following:
    1) Start MDK2
    2) Select Get Info
    3) Manually run the game MDK2MAIN.EXE from the start menu

Here are the settings/method I used:
    Driver: Default OpenGL Driver
    Res: 1024 x 768
    Tex: Max
    Color: 32
    Filtering: Trilinear
Mipmap, Full Screen checked...Hardware T&L blank
Disable 3d sound and use DX are both blank!
pressed Get Info, then I ran the test settings until it is finished...if you hear a sound but the screen stopped..press enter...then start the game manually...

now I'll see if this game is worth the trouble...thanks again Flip-Oh

WinMe is Windows Millenium, the next release of Win98...and yes...I am using win98 drivers for it...as for stability...for me yes, for others I dunno...

I've been using WinMe for a while now, and all I say is that I would never wanna go back to Win98...startup of WinMe is twice if not, three times as fast than starting up Win98...but this is only my view, others I wouldn't know...

Gaming in WinMe is as good as Win98 (Stability)

The great stability of Win ME is due to its lack of Real Mode DOS, i.e its not just a GUI ontop of DOS as Win98/95 is.
A possible draw back may be that very very old DOS basd games may not work.

Gaming is IMHO a lot better in Win ME than in Win 98, in 8 hours of continual benchmarking and playing of about 10 different games it never crashed or slowed down at all.

I whole heartedly agree with Sanjuro Makabe in that even though it is in RC2 at the moment I will never go back to 98.

Dare I say it but well done M$
