speed: all of the new ones are krap..... if u use 5.13 u will be pleased.... it is faster than all other new ones.... although not too much compared to 5.52
quality: they are all pretty good
i suggest u try 5.52 and 5.13 and see which one runs faster.... personally i use 5.13, i have had many problems with 5.52.

I use a combination of the 5.30 PowerDesk with the 5.41 drivers. Extract both files into seperate folders and copy all of the pd*.* files from the 5.30 folder to the 5.41 folder and then install like normal.
The reason for this is that in the 5.41 driver/pd set there was a bug introduced into the powerdesk application. The 5.41 drivers however are definately better than the 5.30 drivers. Unless you play halflife that is. If you play halflife then you should probably go with the 5.25 drivers and Powerdesk. Also, a bug was introduced into the d3d driver somwhere in the 5.5x drivers that causes D3D games to appear completely black. You really don't want to go as far back as the 5.13 drivers though. Performance HAS been improved as well as compatability for the most part, although System Schock reportedly doesn't work with any drivers yet(I think, that may have been fixed).
Of course, a lot of this depends on your system specs. If you have an Intel BX based motherboard or an AMD 750 based board, then you MIGHT be able to use the 5.52 drivers, you'll just have to try. If you have an ALi or VIA based board then you are all but garaunteed that the 5.52 drivers won't work.
i got a G400Max and the 5.55 drivers seem to work with no glitches
Dunno, may just be my system
And as HedSpaz said, the System shock doesnt work with any drivers, well it seemed to run for me with the 5.30 drivers in win98SE, but i have only played games with that engine in win2k of late (Thief and SS2). I am using 5.04 in win2K
this probably doesnt mean anything to you ppl with a G200, but i thought id put in my .02cents
