    3dmark2000 scores - G200

    ok.... in win95 i did some benchmarking with different drivers.... here are the results

    Driver Score
    552 420
    513 426
    451 456
    433 467
    410 472

    do you see the pattern!!! this is good proof that later driver releases are slower.... at least for D3D...

    anyway....... i was comparing with other results and found that mine was pure crap. i thought maybe if i upgrade to win98 i might get better results because of agp...... i did exactly that and the results were almost exactly the same...

    can someone help me... why is my score so low???

        Um, short of getting a new Mobo, CPU, and more RAM... I don't think you can improve your scores. The K6-x just wasn't a very good processor, I'm not nocking in or anything, I have one(albeit out of commission at the moment) and for what I used it for it was fine. Your aren't going to get any more performance out of it though.

        The one and only thing that I can think of to try is if I remember correctly the K6-300 used a 66mhz fsb and a multiplier of, what is that 4.5? See if you can change it to 100mhz fsb 3x multiplier. You will probably have to up the voltage a tad to do it though.

          Spring for a K6-2 550...that should about double your scores...

            ...and another 64 megs of RAM at least.

            With a G200 and K6-3 450 I get 883 with the 5.41 drivers - still not great but very usable.
