Half-Life v1.1.0.1 & Matrox G400 still have problems!

    OK, TGL does not work AT ALL with CS, I tried PD 5.30 to 6.00. No go. TGL works with TFC and HL. No problems with TGL in TFC/HL, except the invisible flashlight. The PD6 ICD gives me the problem with corrupted text (annoying as hell). 5.5x ICD messes up if I ESC to menus and go back. 5.41 ICD works fine, but its rather slow. The ICD has never been good for me, so I was overjoyed that I could finally play in GL when Matrox released TGL. Unfortunately, TGL no longer works for CS (which I play most of the time). I hope the final PD 6.x drivers are better.

      Exactly! For now, I am not playing HL until a new driver comes out. The only good thing about PD 6.0 beta is that it fixed my Soldier of Fortune textures problems (i.e. flickers and corruptions) . I need to finish that and Diablo 2 (teehee).

        I couldn't believe the performance I got with HL I went straight to OpenGL because I'd never tried it before and got 1024x768 flawlessly no corrupt anything, only problem even with my gamma up I still need to turn the lights of to see. HL still freaks me out some times, hearing things explode after silence and stuff. That's with v1.1.0.1 and PD5.55

          When I escape to menus from CS,the actual menus beside server list(Resume,Disconnect etc etc ) are corrupt.Always have been but only if I use GL mode.The buttons are surrounded with box and look detached from rest of screen.I never get this with D3D.I also get strange purple background behind menus sometimes.
          Anyone got a crackin config for speed with very little eye candy then? I think I have mine ok but would like to check against anothers.
          Oh and anyone getting sv_bad with big string of code above it in HL? I get it 1 in every 10 games maybe and it boots me to menus.

            I belive Valve has fixed the sv_bad bug in the latest server-side patch (came out a couple of days ago). I don't know how to tell if a server is up to a particular level or not.

            I don't play CS (I've tried but don't like the game) but I've never had any problems with it.

            Also, I don't use TurboGL.

            I guess I don't have much to add except for the first paragraph...

              Same as TopCat-FCD, I have some corrupted texts in half life (1.1.0.1) if you switch in a menu screen and then back return in your 3D scene (sometimes). In half-life it's acceptable but in Counter Strike 6.6 i can't go in the menu because i will never be able to return in the 3D Scene at all. The menu (resume, disconnect,..) stay there and i can hear the sounds of the game, but no 3D scene (always the menu). I must quit the program and restart it. resolution : 800X600. Others resolutions give me the same problems, same in D3D Mode. The problem is the same on my brothers's computer (AMD K6-2 500). In both case i have tried all display drivers versions, turboGL with and without, reinstalled system, game, updated others drivers (AGP for VIA chipset, sound cards... etc..). I think the problem is the game or the display driver (or both). Other games - applications works fine in openGL or D3D at any resolutions. If anyone of you have problem in CSTRIKE switching in menus and go back in the game please give me your machine description and versions of drivers (display and half-life revision and resolution at least). If you like Cstrike you will understand my need to fix this problem as soon as possible )

                  Yeah I'm running Win98 SE and DX 7a.
                  The menu corruption only happens in HL..any mod at all from CS to Firearms.

                    I finally got TurboGL to work with CS by setting AGP Apeture to 64MB (was at 256MB before). But there is MASSIVE texture corruption. In fact, the wrong textures are displayed. And all the text is replaced with blocks of color (hmm, I've heard this problem before, but don't know from where). Setting AGP Apeture to >64MB does not work. The ICD is still problematic for me.

                    BTW, TurboGL works fine in everything else (HL, TFC).

                      I had coloured blocks instead of textures in QII after I had updated it with EAX patch. It didnt have TGL installed tho.It was worse on floors for some reason.I did get it with TGL and PD4 or 5 but it happened after I escaped and went back into game.I got two smaller screens on in top half of screen and they were fecked ..colours all over the place,no textures at all.

                      No help but thats the only time I've seen that ....I think lol
