i was looking through the forums and i see a bunch of other posts with my same problem, where the 5.0+ drivers lock up on boot up

none of the forums had anything on how to fix it though

and yes it cant find that .cfg file cause its not in the hw directory, except i cant find the g200d3d.cfg file anywhere

there are some vga and bios upgrades available from my motherboard manufacturer...www.pcchips.com

and its an AMI M726 board

except my motherboard manufacturer sucks and their site dosnt tell you how to do it

im totally lost on what to do...and today i was playing counterstrike and it locked up and garbeled the display...i changed my drivers to version 4.51 and i havnt even tested it with counter-strike yet

im thinking about sticking my matrox card in my other computer and seeing if the 5.0 drivers work on that computer, if they do then i know its my motherboard or bios or cmos settings or something

i emailed matrox tech support, but i dont expect a reply from them for at least another month or 2

and knowing the shit tech support they give they wont be able to fix it anyway

thanks for trying to help anyway

Definately enable the assign VGA to IRQ, that would be a major cause of crashes.

And i would recommend upgrading ur bios, as i own a gigabyte mobo, they do have some detailed instructions for AWARD bioses. http://www.giga-byte.com/gigabyte-web/procedure1.htm

      hope this helps you
