If you have a regular g400 the 5.04 drivers are certified by microsoft.
I have installed all the drivers from 5.01 to 5.10 and had no problems. I know if i want to play counter strike i have to use the 5.10 icd because all the previous ones do not work for me. I am using the 5.10 drivers.

I would not take any hardware out. Keep it all in. I did and win2000 recognized everything and installed the drivers. Your system is pretty basic (no scsi's or wierd daisy chained hardware).
I would use the 5.10 drivers. Make sure win2000 has it own partition (especially is dual boot with another OS). Win2000 was the easiest install of any windows OSs I have ever did and the quickest (more ram the faster install speed). If your motherboard supports ACPI almost everything will share IRQ 9, this is normal. Make sure the bios for your mother board is the lastest and greatest.

        Asus p2b
        sound blaster live!
        smc ez card pci 10
        LG cd-rom
        2 ide hard drives

P.S. Liveware 3 for win2000 was released today (as of now on the asian site)
