  • PD6 still no good with my VIA

I have a EPoX mobo with VIA Chipset, and when I install PD6 it looks like when I use other PD (version over 5.41), witch meens my desktop crashes and displays magentacolored lines all over, and then hang everything besides the mouse (wich i can move, but not do anything else). This wouldnt be any problems, but since I (obviously) need PD version more than 5.41 to run WorldCraft 3.3 I need help.

Hi, have you tried totally uninstalling all matrox/powerdesk stuff then reinstalling the powerdesk 6 drivers? I have the same motherboard and doing that made it work for me..

Burrito dude, can you give us some specifics about your system? Sounds like you may have other probs, but it's hard to tell without seeing what other stuff you have, you don't even say what vid card you are using.

Just wondering which Via chipset you have?
I'm running the Apollo 133 with PD6.0 and (so far) haven't had any problems.
How 'bout trying Via's 4in1 4.22 if you haven't already.

                www.viatech.com/drivers

Go there and get the 4.22 4-in-1 and the AGP 4.03 drivers. Install them and you should be good to go.

                  update on my problems:

i have been able to run WorldCraft 33 with the PD beta 6.00 when i did a total format and reinstall of everything. unfortunatly every game hang within 60 seconds when i use 6.00, but i can run WC without problems.
since PD 6.00 is still beta, when can we expect a real version? that version might take the good from 5.41 (me being able to run games) and the good from 6.00 (me being able to run WC).
right now i use 5.30 since it works best. with everything besides WC. please help me! is sitting here waiting for newer driver the only thing to do?

One thing I noticed when installing the PD 6.00 Beta. On mine I have a Vanilla G400 32 MB it installs it as a Millenium G400 and it acts funny and the fonts are smaller. I forced it to install as a G400 AGP-English and everthing runs great (so for). I have an AOpen AX63Pro (VIA133) using 4in1423 VIA Drivers.
