  • Help-QIII flashing after cpu upgrade

I just upgraded from a celeron 366 @ 490 to a PIII 700 @ 933. I have a G400 vanilla at just under max speeds. Since my upgrade, QIII has large geometric flashes. They're hard to explain, as they are very fast, but it's like the screen flashes brightly, but only certain textures. It's very distracting. I've re-installed turbogl, and I don't think it's a AGP bus since the speed is the same (was 89MHz x 1, now 133MHz x 2/3). It's not the same type of artifacts I get if I o/c the G400 too much (those are usually little green dots, or an acid melting look if I go way too far). The cpu should be fine, as I can run Prime95 for 8 hours no problems (I can actually run Win98 fine at 952, but I do get errors in Prime95 at that speed)

    Any ideas?

    Uninstall TurboGL.
With that PIII700, the ICD will run just as fast, and without the artifacts.

      Kruzin,
You're right, the ICD is as fast as the turboGL now, but one of the reasons I was using the turbogl was because of some problems with the ICD... I Q3A, I get strange artifacts in spots on the floor, especially on things like shadows & burn marks. It's like they are applied in stripes. I believe I'm using the 5.50 drivers. Have newer ICD's fixed this? I always got good framerates and no artifacts with the turbogl on my celeron, so I left well enough alone. Maybe I should upgrade to newer drivers now?
