Most of you play UT. I know Kruzin and Rags play TFC. But none of you play CS? I'd like to play CS with some fellow MURCers. FYI, I usually play at [AoW]Vanheim(208.248.127.4:27015}.
I too play CS all the time. I'm just wondering what your guys performance is like in CS. what is strange is in Quake 3 I get like 40 - 60fps but in CS it is like 15-25fps and half-life is ~2 years old. With 20 or below it really hurts your game.
A person should not promise to give a child something and then not give it,
because in that way the child learns to lie.
i'v also play CS as my favorite game !.. i play with a K6-III 450mhz and G400max, in the begining of a game, it runs COOOl and smooth, but after 15 minutes it start lagging, and fps under 25fps ???
this is one thing that helped me.... go into control panel - sytem - performance - file system and change it to network, that really helped A LOT... especially in CS...
i get about 25(non-action) in 1024x16bit

Hehe, when I played beta 2.1 (first time), I thought WTF? But then I stuck to it and grew to like it. Anyway, in 1024x768x16, I get good fps (usually above 50), but in heavy action, I get like 20 (bad). So I run 800x600. I use TurboGL, since it is faster than 6.00/6.01 ICD (but they tell me it's not for 6.00, yet it works faster). I don't use default opengl cfg, I use my own. Increases image quality (everything looks much nicer), but it slows down about 10fps from default. Anyway, I play at [AoW]Vanaheim most of time time. Great pings there (same city). Heh, even had 117 once.
Fury, if you know what you're doing, you can kill a guy wielding a PARA with a pistol. I could do that

First of all, the money pose defenately no hold back to the gameplay in CS.
Usually you have about 1700 to spend each round.
Secondly the weapon balance is pretty good. You can kill a person with an ak47 if you have only a "puny" USP pistol.
For only 1500 bucks you can buy yourself a MP5 submachinegun, which kicks butt....i played 4 vs. 4 and scored about 42/8 only with a MP5 (allright, and a good connection )
I've really tried to get into CS (really!), but just don't find it very engaging. I've tried all the versions up to the latest release, after the big HL patch, but still not much fun for me. It's a great idea, and pretty impressive that it was mostly done by one dude, but pretty poor execution (IMO). For some reason, it really plays poorly on my system, which is odd, because TFC and UT are great ....... I'll stick to TFC and UT, but keep checking on CS.
