  • G400 Max, Win2K, and Everquest

Do any of the Win2K drivers work for Everquest and video mode switching? I've tried 5.11 beta, 5.10 beta, and 5.03 and none work when switching video modes or going to full screen. Any help would be appreciated. TIA.

Now I've tried the 5.04 drivers and STILL no luck. I really hope Matrox fixes this because Win2K is sooooo much better than Win98 in everything.

      i use win2k a g400 van, and beta 5.06 i play ever quest

at 800x600 full screan and have no problems.

the game crashes when you switch res modes in options but when you log back on it is in the new res.

do not check of the use same res option leave it alone (in eq options) when in windowd mode the screen blacks out the boarder but when you press the f10 button to go to full screen mode you get full screen at the res you chose. beta 5.10 and 5.11 are both broken (as far as textures go but 5.06 works good , if you dont have beta 5.06 i will send it to you when i get home email me nridge@snet.net

No, all of the drivers currently do that. I believe it to be a Win2k bug, as our Nvidia using friends get the same problem.

Thanks merchant, the 5.06 drivers work like a charm. DarkSyd, I disagree that this is a Win2K issue because the 5.06 drivers are working for me. Gooky, I also have to disagree with you because in the 2 games I mainly play (Diablo 2 and Everquest) I have noticed an improvement in speed and graphic quality.

You don't crash to desktop when switching res in EQ? Odd, I get that even with the 5.06 drivers, and still with the 5.11 drivers.
I will agree though, Win2k seems much snappier than Win98 for the stuff I run. I don't play the benchmark numbers game...either my games run fast enough or they don't. They weren't under Win98.
