It's too much stuff for me to download, patch, install, and hack. All the extra skins and maps and mods are neat, but keep it simple.

Perhaps if it were just UT, UT patch, bonus pack, and inoxx maps, it would be simple enough and the least common denominator that bunches of people would be on the server.

I hope it is Friday night. I am going to Colorado on Saturday for about a week. Upto Grand lake to do some hiking and visiting with my inlaws. I hope I do not suffer to many withdrawals from being away from my computer that long.

          a quick question...

I'm planning on just logging onto the server to d/l everything (I assume it puts things in the right places & modifies any config files) as I'm too lazy to do it myself.

I don't want to impact play on the server while I do it, however.

If I connect to d/l, do I take up a server spot? Do d/l slow down the server for those playing?

If the answer to either of those questions is yes, please let me know (generally speaking) when a good time to d/l this stuff would be (I'm in the US, midwest).

          Thanks!

Andy, that would take forever to D/L from the Game server. It won't impact others playing but it's too dang slow that way.

Go to the clan[MU] web site and D/L everything you need. I't much faster

If you are just dead set on letting the server do the work, just log on to the server and let it go over night. You should hvae everything by Saturday.

Oh Goody, 9.30pm ET for a change?? So, plus 6 hours that'll make a somewhat normal 3.30am for me... Okay, I won't be as drunk as I could be then

Btw, Oboy, why don't you come in as a normal player? We will ALL make a picture of you just before, during and after you ate that rocket

Could get hard for me to stay up until 3:30 am local time, but I surely want to participate.

Maybe we'd get another feature on Matrox' site ?

I guess I should collect all those updates now ...

Maggi, Eastern Time (US) is -0500 from UK time, so you only have to stay up until 2:30am.

From GMT, Eastern Daylight savings Time (EDT, summer months) is -0400, and Eastern Standard Time (winter months) is -0500

What a wacked up world we have not being able to keep all of our clocks synced together, eh?

TC, so what you're saying is: GMT is time 0 now, UK time is GMT+1, Maggi and I live on the European mainland this side of Russia so we're GMT+2, and the playing time is GMT-4, right??

                              That makes 9.30pm ET: 1.30am GMT, 2.30am GMT+1 (UK time) and 3.30am GMT+2 (CET= Central European Time)....

Now for anyone to guess is what the time will be you post on the MURC server at that time

                              Jord.

GMT is Greenwich Mean Time, and this does not do the daylight savings time dance. Normally, the UK time is GMT, but in the summer when they do daylight savings time, the UK time is GMT +0100.

I think that a lot of the rest of Europe is GMT +0100, and I have no idea whether or not they do daylight savings time. (The only Eurpoean office my company has that I have to work with is in the UK.)

There is a -0500 offset from UK time to Eastern (US) time, assuming that we both start and end daylight savings time on the same day.

Maybe that will clear things up. Regardless, 2:30am or 3:30am is WAY late for UK guys to stay up for UT.
