Can you help with G400Max and UT config?

Hi all,

We'll I've finally broken down and said "yes" to my son's request to try UT on *my* machine. Hopefully I won't regret this. Maybe you guys can help me avoid some pitfalls.

The machine:

MSI 6167 + Athlon 600
320 MB PC100 RAM (lots of Photoshop work on this one)
G400 MAX 32 Meg DH
17" Viewsonic P775
IBM 20 Meg 7200 RPM HDD
etc, etc.

My question is pretty simple. Which Matrox driver versions do you suggest (we'll use D3D) AND which UT patch should we use?

Are there any specific problems I should know about or other patches/drivers/dlls. "Great" settings, perhaps?

Take PD6.01 (beta)

Grab UT 4.25

and use this D3D dll



All the other stuff you'd need to join us on Matrox' Tech-Support server, visit Clan-MU and goto the files section.

I should have mentioned which OS, Maggi is right, it's Win98 (but it's the *only* Win98 machine I use...the others are NT/Linux).

And hey, I'm a she. I keep telling my boy he's pretty lucky to have such a "cool" Mom to play FPS and RPGs with. Not to mention building him and his sister matched overclocked Celeron 300As ;-).

Not exactly the stuff I used to do with my mom !

It will go nice and easily. I just did it last night on my Athlon 700/Abit KA7.

Piece of cake. I didn't even have that .dll that Maggi suggested....but I do now.
