  • Clan-MU oh man!

OK, I downloaded and installed all the stupid stuff required to play on your server. Started UT (and it takes houres to load, well not exactly, but very long) and was looking forward to some fine ctf-action. But what did I see, 2 people on each team. And I suppose the other 3, beside me, were Bots. So whats up? I always thought this is the server where the action is! When do you guys play?

Well, as I don't know what time zone you are in all I can give you is a relative time. I've seen people on the server anywhere from 7pm Eastern Standard time to 11 or 12 pm EST.

On weekends there are usually quote a few more of us though, and often on quite a bit later, sometimes till around 1 or 2 am.(EST)

As you observed though, it's not an overly active server. Thats partially because it isn't really a public server, and since [MU] is spread out all over the world, it tends to be rather random for catching people. In our defense though , if you do manage to catch up with some guys you'll be in for a good challenge! We've put together a pretty strong team! And if you want to join, feel free to tack [MU] after your name and have some fun!

On seperate note, the server doesn't belong to Clan-MU. The server is owned and run by Matrox themselves out of the generosity of their hearts. Specifically it is run by their Tech Support lead Haig.(Thanks Haig! ) So send him a thanks if you see him on the server... or shoot him if you're on the opposite team.

PS I'll try and be on the server tonight around 8 or 9 EST if your up for a game.

EST is about 6 hours behind CET. I could be an hour or so out atm, cos I'm not sure what the situation with daylight saving time is...
Either way, it means that the US gamers are just getting started when its the early hours of the mourning for us Europeans.

Hmm... I feel a little foolish now. I just noticed that under your name it says that you are in Germany.

While there are people from around the world in [MU], by in large the bulk of us are from North America. The east coast of the USA is -5 from GMT. Germany is +1, and to put my Calculus 3 skills to use... we are 6 hours apart.

Now, there are several players from Germany in [MU], but I haven't the foggiest who they are. I know Jorden is near you, but I don't know who all else. Even if we were to arrange a game at 6 pm EST, that would still put you at midnight, and the west coast of the US at 3pm.

All around, it doesn't work to well.
I know Jorden does stay up until 3am plus on occasion to play with us, and if you feel like doing the same, then we'd love to have you, but otherwise I think your going to have to try and catch up with some fellow Europeans.

Yes, I do stay up till 3am local time and even later or earlier, as I played with the gang when the 9pm PST times were used as well (that makes about 05.00 hours CET, Elemental). I've even tried to set-up a UT game for the Europeans this weekend, but even I can't make it Too busy with my new job tomorrow and some other stuff non-related.

But then again, if you pick any Friday or Saturday, go online around 01.00 (in the morning), you'll be bound to find some MU, MTS or BB persons roaming around on the server

It really feels good to give any of the BBs or MTS people (but especially Haig ) a headshot!!!

I can't speak for the other North Americans, but I would be quite willing to play in the morning hours if a more convenient European time slot were arranged.

Actually I find that I play better in the mornings.
