Matrox Drivers.do they get 'tired' ?

After a few weeks of running games on my sytaem benchmarks start slipping. So what I've discovered is that an pd uninstall and reinstall of the 5.52 drivers bring the frame rates back.

Weird :0)

Does anyone else get the impression that the drivers go 'stale' or that registries get written to in such a way that the card almost 'learns' bad habits?

Nope. No joke. No good explanation for it, either. But it's a measurable phenomenon with a definite fix. Very odd indeed. Half of my driver updates are for reasons like that...

"Well, nothing's broken but gosh it seems slower than it used to... Ooh! There's a new driver! I guess I'll install that..."
