well, i cant help you with system shock, as i installed and played (finished too) it in win2k with PD 5.04. If i may make a suggestion, try dropping down to version 5.41 if you want to play ss2, the beta is a beta for a reason . Dungeon keeper 2: I dont have their official statement with regards to the problem, but it has something to do with a corrupt texture map in the 1.60 patch. If you want bump mapping you have to wait for version 1.7
i do have this information for you from ww.dkeeper2.net:
Wayne Frost from Bullfrog was kind enough to stop by our forums today and answer some questions concerning Dungeon Watch and v1.7.

Q: Why has v1.7 been delayed so long?
A: Version 1.7 has been delayed for a while because we are trying to get all the different language versions ready and having some problems doing this.

Q: When will v1.7 be released?
A: I cannot give a concrete date, I should know more by the end of this week and will place another post. Sorry guys!!

Q: When will DungeonWatch or any other server work properly with online play?
A: Dungeon Watch should be up and running now! We fixed a problem with the server this morning. If this is not the case please let us know and we will fix this asap.

Thanks again to Wayne for taking the time to answer these questions. Also thanks to DREW for posing the original questions.
and i have no idea what the problem in DOW is, as i dont own the game

After 6 or 7 months of waiting they're finally going to release the 1.7 patch...
Better wipe the dust off my DK2 CD, if I remember where I put it.

hmm. All waiting for nothing. Patch 1.70 just bring official evn. bump, but 32bpp problems still survive.

Turning off bus mastering in PD is never a solution to anything. It completely cripples the card as the G400 (along with any other modern AGP card) relies on bus mastering for transfers to and from main memory.

Stuff that works with Bus Mastering off but not with it on indicates a wider problem with your system.

I originally had the same problem with SS2 not loading. I was using the 5.41 drivers (found a thread in these forums regarding this problem with those drivers. Fix was to go to 5.52 drivers). Instead of going to 5.52, I updated to the latest beta (6.01?) and the game now works fine -- did not have to touch bus mastering.

Since you're at 6.00, I would recommend to either try the latest beta or drop back to the 5.52 drivers.
