Got a small problem here, installed PD 6.01 and everything seemed to be fine, until I decided on playing some SOF. The problem is that the game exits to the desktop without any reason and this happens randomly. I now have a question : Is there somebody else who have had these problems with the ICD in PD 6.01 or is it my rig that´s the problem?

    Current system :

    AMD Duron 700MHz
    QDI KinetiZ VIA KT133 mobo
    128MB PC-133 VCM CAS2 memory
    30.7GB IBM 75GXP HD
    Aureal Vortex2 Soundcard
    Matrox G400 16MB SH at AGP 4x
    Latest VIA AGP driver-kit 4.03

I hope somebody have some tip on what to do, cause SOF is a rather good game, and loads of fun too

I'm afraid I had the same prob. The game also wiped out my Quake III installation and in the end, to save myself a big headache, I took it back and had to reformat and reinstall windows.

I think that in the end it was my VIA chipset which got the blame.

Thanx for the tip, will try to re-install Windows ME then and see if that might help, if not, then there´s always Win98 SE and some older version of PD I suppose.

not sure about this but I believe if you play with same resolution in game as desktop this behaviour is stopped.

Same Res as desktop, eh? I'll have to try that. I'm also running Beta 6.01, and my SoF feels like an acid trip (flickering textures). I run the game @ 640x480 but have my desktop @ 800x600.

I felt I had to post a bit of an update to this tread, I have now re-installed all of my system with the PD 5.52 and 4.03 VIA AGP driver, and everything is just running so well in 1024*768.

The only thing I´m now trying to figure out is how to enable the 3DNow part of the drivers, I know it can be done, but I don´t remeber how, oh well

And regarding Win ME, this OS isn´t as good as I hoped it would be, so pretty soon it´s time to get back to old faithful Win98 SE.
