  • Help Matrox MGA-2064W and GTA2

Hi Folks - I'am a newbie to this forum and I need some help getting my Matrox MGA-2064w and GTA2 working together...

    MGA Bios version 3.0
    Drivers verion 4.10.01.4120
    MGA Desktop version 4.12.013
    Card number 590-05 Rev. B

    Any help would be appreciated...

I'm not familiar with that game, but I can tell you that if it's a 3D rendered game, you are not gonna get it done with that video card.

That's an old MillenniumII (I think), and it is really just a 2D card, and has almost zero 3D capabilities. The last drivers released for that card where based on DirectX5, and we now use DX7 for most new games.
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

Not sure also, but I think the 2064w is the Mill I, the Mill II being the 2164w...

Anyway Kruzin is right, it´s simply too old hardware to run it.

        Hi Danny,

Can you run GTA2 in software mode as in the original GTA? If so, give that a go.

If you don't have a 3D card next to the Matrox Mil card, you can't play GTA2. It uses only 3D hardware rendering !! I haven't found the option to go to software rendering anyway, as the options are detected by the GTA2 manager (3dfx, Glide, D3D rendering).
