Yesterday I went to my friend's computer & do some test run with the ATI new display card, the Redeon or something like that, anyway it's a box retail version.
Now here comes the best part clean install of display driver is the one came with the box , Win98 SE, Direct X 7.0A, AMD 800 256 RAM & Asus board obvious VIA chipset our test game Rally Championship 2000 , 32 bit color at 1024 with latest patch, less than 3 mins the game lock up but we can still hear the sound from our monitor / speaker.
2nd test Diablo , instant lock up during install of the game not to mention play it. Well I guess now I understand why my friend's computer shop never sell other brand of display card except Matrox.
The way he explain it to me is we have to test every single card before we sell it to our client & make sure it's the most stable card , he explaination is what's the point of having the latest & the greatest display card when you can't play games with it ?? True & totally correct ATI new display card is one of the classic case of it!
