  • MGI TFC Server Status...NO MORE PW!

In an attempt to get some players on the MGI TFC server, Haig has been good enough to (at least temporarily) remove the password protection. Hopefully, this will get some players in there.

If we get 4-6 people, others will see activity on the server, and before ya know it, it will be full.
    Let's pack this baby up!
    Core2 Duo E7500 2.93, Asus P5Q Pro Turbo, 4gig 1066 DDR2, 1gig Asus ENGTS250, SB X-Fi Gamer ,WD Caviar Black 1tb, Plextor PX-880SA, Dual Samsung 2494s

      Woooo-Hoooo!!!!

I'll mention it to some guys I play with on Rymatics. Very skilled players, generally good folks to be around.

      [Beg Edit]
Haig, can you guys assign RCON to some folks you trust? If it's going to be a pub server, and current admin's won't be on often, there should be some extra sherrifs in town willing to take care of things, should it be necessary.

      Thanks!

Thanks for the offer ahartman but I won't be able to convince our web security folks.

Oh, I wasn't offering MYSELF to help admin the server. I don't need that kind of headache...

As a side note, I can't think of anything RCON would give that goes beyond the game server - I don't believe there's a security risk associated w/it.

Anyway, I saw Kruzin there last nite but he left after a couple of minutes.

Thanks again for the server, Haig. Hope to see you on at some point.

            Giddyup! See you all there!

I was there, and saw you there, but had a crash when you came down the ladder to my basement.
By the time I rebooted and recruited some help, you where gone.

Haig - I think the rcon suggestion is just to keep the idiots off the server while it has no PW. Often times morons will drift onto a server, and do their best to ruin the game for everyone (infecting teammates, blocking routes, etc). In those times it's good to have someone on the server who can boot the offender from the game. As ahrtman said, this should not affect anything else on the server outside of the game.

oh...and could you please remove the map "Push" from the rotation? If I wanted to play soccer, I'd be playing FIFA

                Ok,

                push is off.

I'm using HL SAD for the remote admin.

I'll talk it over with the web guys and see what they say about it. If it's a go, who will volunteer?

Just down loaded the 1.5 TF patch, I have played the single player Halflife but have never played it online. Looking forward to trying it out.
Just joined the sever no one was there. I did not expect anyone just thought I would look around. My brother use to be addicted to this game so I will contact him to. We have been playing UT.

Hope to see you on line

Since it's supposed to be a crappy weekend here in Chicago, I'll be in front of my computer playing!

I'll suggest 2:00pm (CST) Saturday (9/23) afternoon for getting together a match.

Hope to see some others there as well!

I'll volunteer as well. I get home around 4:30 (CST) and am always online until about 7:00. I'd be willing to take the after-school shift.
                      [end edit]

                            Wooo-Hooo! Finally people playing!

                            Snake, Gyaq, it was fun.

Haig, can you either remove or shorten the respawn delay? 5 secs is a little long.

Hunter, you showed up right before the map changed. Hope to see you again.

Wulfgar, don't know who you are, but I'd like to snipe against you some time.

Keep coming, folks! Let's get the server rockin'!
