I found the eval versions and the Elsa frontend alread
I guess I must have been the 1% that did have the Matrox player running under Win2k. I'm so proud of myself.

    Thanks!
    DS

...and just to try and get back on topic after I derailed the topic...I will try the 5.14 drivers and 3d enabled on BG2 tonite

The 5.14 Win2k drivers fixed my 'rectangle' problems, and the game looks and runs great at 1024x. I wish my G400 was a bit faster...1600x shows you so much of the map...but runs too slow.
I see the banding others have referred to in the movies...it does look like they are running in 8bit color...but I've got no way to check

I'm getting color banding in the regular game itself, not just the movies. I may notice it easier since I play BG2 at 640x480. I think I'll just play in 2d mode since it not that big a deal to me. I think the game runs a bit smoother in 2d anyway.

It does run faster in 2d mode...and to perfectly honest I see no noticeable difference with the 3d on anyway...other than the movies look worse.

            Buckaroo99:
May I ask why you are playing in 640X480?
800X600 is even smoother in appearance.

Well Derah, the slightly larger text size if helpful when reading the diaglog stuff on my 17" monitor. I'm 30 something and the eyes are going. I am planning on getting a large monitor but until I find 640x480 is best for me. I tried up to 1024 but found I had to squint at the text. Won't be long till I need a monitor in brail.
