    Elvis Lives!!!!

Good to see another MURCER out there doing battle

Most newbies are into the sniping because it's easier.

I still get the biggest kick out of using the Air Hammer on other servers and running into a crowded room

Whenever I win a Deathmatch (which isn't often), I get to yell "I'm the King" or "Viva Las Vegas"

Also, I can play any number of blues and C & W standards on shock rifle.

Your right Kindness I was the one who was red in the face with popping vessels, not because of spawn snipers but because I was getting my but kicked. In DM by you and snakeeyes and In CTF by Maverick.

Man this game use to be fun until everone got better than me.

Another question: What is the best strategy for hanging out with the opponent's flag? If you're waiting for your flag to return, should you hang out in the flag area if you have little or no protection, or should you hide away from the flag area in an area not likely to be traveled - one maybe you can better defend?

I just prefer to bury myself somewhere in the map that if I were to die, it would mean the worst trip possible for the other team. In facing worlds, the back of the fortress, on the ledge, works nice. If they find you, they've got to be creative (just don't fall into space).

Brian, whether or not to hide and where depends an awful lot on the map and how well organized your team is. Not all maps have good places to hide, and asymetrical maps are even worse cause sometimes one team will have a good place to hide but the other won't. Also, if your team is really on it's toes(and this is something I think we need to work on), if you have the flag, you should have one or two guys gaurding you while everyone else tries to get your flag back.

One thing you should do when looking for hiding places is to open the map up in practice mode, and before you start, scour the map while you can still fly around. Look for obscure out of the way places that can either be rocket or hammer jumped to. Also check for ledges on the sides of buildings.
For example, on CTF face, one of the more common hiding places is to go up top and jump down the ledges on the back side and sit on the ones near the bottom.

When you can't find any good locations I find that the best defence is to just not sit still. If there is a good place where you can keep running in a loop past the flag point then that may be the best you can do.

The other all important thing of course is to know where all of the health/armor/weapons and other power ups are near or in your base. But that should be fairly obvious.

So, basically, IMO, you should either find a good hiding spot, or keep moving.
