Game Server Survey

We just got in Elite Force. Do you all want to see this up on the server replacing either TFC or UT?

We can still have all 3 running off the same system but performance may be hit if there are matches going on on all 3 at the sametime.

As to which current game should be removed, I guess that depends on which one gets used more.
I rarely play UT. I wouldn't miss it from the server, but I know many murcers do play it regularly.

I do play TFC, but the MGI server is usually empty. Since the pw was removed on the TFC game, it does occasionally get a good night of fraggin though...

I only have TFC. I think it would be a good idea to keep UT, since many people around here play. I don't know about Elite Force. I've heard of it, but I don't have a clue what it is. Yesterday, I was at the TFC server for more than 1/2 hour before anyone showed up. And then, it was still only two people (me and the other guy, forgot his name). I eventually left after about an hour and a half. Can we add CS instead?

I don't know if one server will do all 3 games, plus the other things that machine does. Rags and I played for a while tonight, and there where some pretty laggy moments from the server end. Maybe if the TFC server was locked with a pw again to keep out the riff raff

There are very few STV:EF servers now (only about 110-120 at any given time, compared to thoudands of HL and UT servers). If that was put on the server and run without a pw, it should get some decent traffic.

Oh come on Haigy that way you could re-do the UT server for just the standard 4.32 or whatever the current version is and not have all those extra files to download.

I'd vote to keep the TFC server as I do not play UT hardly at all (don't wanna download all that stuff).

You'd be amazed how many people don't know who runs the server. I think a clan has even adopted it as their home server w/o checking with the owners!

I might be up for a CS server - I hate the game but I would prob. play it w/you guys. Too many punks on most public servers that make the game a death march rather than fun.

When there are people on the TFC server, the conversation goes:

ME: Hey, are you guys on MURC?

them: MURC? What's that?

ME: A community board centered around Matrox video cards.

them: Matrox? Never heard of them

ME: Well... [goes on to evangelize]

them: They just run the server for you? How cool is that! Any Matrox people play here?

ME: I know they play on the UT server, but I've never seen them on here.

them: What are the video card models again?

ME: [snicker! Hopefully another convert!]

UT! I think that Oboy was planning on us using the server for some upcomming clan games. We have recently gotten into some ladders that are based in America (instead of Europe), so we will need a place to practice. There are still quite a few of us that play UT, but the server never seems to be on the game type that we are in the mood for. As a result we venture into the public domain. I hear that some things have changed about the server so I am sure that we will be there more often.

To make a long story longer: Keep UT Please.
