I'm interested in getting NOLF because I heard it is rockin, but I just woke up and realized that I have what is now considered a 'low end system'. Could anyone tell me if the game is playable with this setup ...

    P3450 @ 450
    g400 32mb non-max
    128mb ram
    win2k or 98 or me

    thanks-

yeah ... I could try the demo but it is like 150mb and I am stuck on a modem. Actually, I was more curious about people using the retail version because I heard it was a LOT better (performance wise).

go buy latest PCGAMER has the demo on the disc. the game plays great on my g400 max has a few zbuffer issues and with the demo it has some artifacts after installing DX 8 but game plays very well. I enjoy the game a lot. Dont let all the talk about bad graphics keep you from getting the game because Game play and story line are great
in my opinion. Animation of the characters is the best I have seen in any game.

I must say having just started NOLF on my "lowly" p2 450, G200 millenium, I have absolutly no regrets about getting the game. In the game you're given 3 "options" to run the game at... the lowest option being a P2 450/128meg/8meg vid card. Frame rates in that is VERY reasonable.

To see how the game would look I then turn it up to the "average" setting (P3 500 according to the game) and I have acutally been able to play in it without that much trouble.

So for rjcarr who has a better video card than my g200, I would think you wouldn't have much trouble running the retail version at all.

I know this isn't the gaming forum but I consider this one of the best games this year.
            My system specs:
            PII 300@450, Asus P2B Rev 1010, 128MB PC100 SDRAM, Millenium G200 Bios 2.6.20, Maxtor 27.2 GB DiamondMax 6800+, Maxtor 98040D6 8.4GB, Matshita CR-588, HP CD-Writer 9310, SB AWE32, Logitech MouseMan +, 17" Samnsung 17GLsi.

            OS:
            Running Dual Boot-
            1. Windows NT4SP6 Workstation (Matrox Powerdesk 4.45 at 1152x864/1600x1280)
            2. Windows 98 Lite SE (Matrox Powerdesk 6.04 at 1152x864)

              rjcarr,

It should run fine on your system.
I played the demo to completion and really
enjoyed it.....it will probably be my next
              game purchase.

FYI, the final version of the game runs much smoother than the demo so don't base anything on that...

I am running the final version on Celeron II 850Mhz / 128 MB / G200 on FULL DETAIL and I find it totally playable! I am running it on 640x480 though.

And the game is soooo good. Straight into the all-time top 5. Great acting, story, humour, action, AI, variety, you name it.

I agree, this games rocks, it's about time we see an FPS with a twist

I have a Marvel G400TV with PIII 800, 128mb ram and it plays perfectly.

                  Cheers,
                  Elie
