  • [MU] Please Read This!

This is what the last team had to say aboutclan |momo|. |momo| is the clan that we were supposed to play last night but was scrubbed due to server problems.

It is especially interesting to go to the site that they linked at the bottom of their comments and look at how |momo| acted (even a week or so after the game). They seem like a bunch of idiots, but don't take my word for it. Go check it out! -Don

We don't dare play them on Ghostman's server, we'd never hear the end of it.

I had already read all of that stuff before the match last night. That is why I was so insistent that we reschedule. If everything isn't right they will never let us hear the end of it. They are apparently fond of getting peoples ICQ numbers and sending a barrage of insults. I'd rather not deal with immaturity.

        Wow!

I was wondering if this stuff happened much. Now I know.

We better make sure we either play on a server with spawn protection or avoid Facing Worlds map

If they start to use those tactics during the game then we must return the favor....

I hate to play that way but can play as dirty or dirtier then they can.

I played "Face" on the Killhouse server last night and some guy named "Bodi" kept camping at the Red Sniper Rifle and using his Air Hammer to knock his fellow Red team members off the map. Guess he was friends of someone on the Blue team or just being an ****ole.

That didn't last too long cause not many people out there can use their Air Hammers like [MU] can. I returned the favor 5-6 times in a row and he finally left the game

LOL. Great job Darth! Those hammer matches have indeed been benificial. I find myself often switching to the hammer in crowded DM games -- I get more frags that way than with the rocket launcher.

I use to think that the air hammer was useless. Then I started playing with you guys and learned that it is actually an effective weapon (plus the fact that you can use it to jump while you have the flag).

I would almost rather not even mess with |momo|. I have very little patience for that type of behavior. Maybe we should challenge LoC instead.

                  So, when's the next match??

I'd like to try and get in on this, if I can.

                      |momo| canceled the match and have not rechallenged us and i'm not going to.
The sad thing is there are no rules about spawn snipping or hammer camping or trash talking in any of the ladders that I have read. (I haven't read them all) This happens all the time on pub servers, on Killhouse sometime it takes me 5 respawns before I can make it into the flag room. I think it comes down to what type of clan you are, how much pride you have in yourselves. We have always played for the fun of it and there are ppl that take this much more seriously than they should! ITS ONLY A GAME! The clans we have played so far have all been a pleasure to play {PSX} comes to mind. But there will come a time when it won't be that way, sad but true! The one thing we need to do is start making a demo of the matches. That way if something comes up we will have that to show.

The respawn sniping on the Face map is easiliy cured by a few quick trips around the back of the opposing teams building with the Air Hammer.

                        *Air Hammer* the cure-all weapon

Alright, someone explain to me the technique for using an Air Hammer. Even though I have it armed, almost every time in an Air Hammer match I run into someone and don't kill them, I get killed. What am I doing wrong? Do you need to hold it low, high, at an angle? Jump to the side just before contact? What??????

That's kinda of a difficult question to answer as different tactics are necessary depending on who you are up against.

I have found that going "head on" against someone that has a better ping than you is a real BAD idea. Sometimes crouching works, but really hinders your maneuverability. I have had pretty good luck against LPBs by strafing around them in a circle and trying to get them from the side.

Also, if you can load up on extra health vials or shield/armor you are in pretty good shape to win a "head on" attack.

I use one of 4 moves, then have a backup move just in case I ever need to use it.

                              1) I use the old "run straight at them then at the last momment curve to the left and nail them in the side as they run by" trick.

                              2) If you have an incline at your disposal, try to be on the downhill side. Seems to be easier to get them when you are looking up at them.

                              3) I recently found that if you double click the forward button (lunge) at them you will usually prevail (shh, don't tell anyone! That's our little secret).

                              4) There is always the wait till they aren't looking and hit them in the back move.

(This is the "OH, MAN! THEY ARE KICKING THE CRAP OUT OF ME!" move)
If all else fails (in a hammer match), pull out the rocket launcher and blow them away then type in "oops, sorry".
