  • PD6.10 and OpenGL issues

I installed the new drivers, and after this the OpenGL ICD stopped functioning properly.

After a while of playing Q3, the screen get junky. Kinda hard to describe, but it draws incorrectly. A pixel here, one there etc.

Ehrr.. imagine reflecting the screen on mercury. It sorta "floats" =).

TurboGL works great as usual, which btw. if I remember it correctly should not work at all with 6.10.

Did the proper uninstall, etc etc.

    Anyone else have this problem?

Have you... err... tried clocking your machine back to 800 to see if the problem goes away?

The newer drivers are more demanding of the machine (faster) and therefore less tolerant of overclocking.

Give it a shot. It may not be the answer but it's worth a quick 5 minute test, no?

Make sure you have Dual Head disabled.

I don't think it's the ICD, it's the basic drivers themselves. I've seen some weird artifacting since going to 6.10, nothing major, and it generally is more of a minor annoyance. Happened in 2D mode, and D3D mode as well as when I tried to run Baldur's Gate 2 in hardware mode. There is definately some broken stuff here, but in general, there's less broken than before, just some new stuff.

Well, it works flawlessly besides this problem. DD/D3D/TurboGL runs just fine.

Not that I think it has anything to do with this, but as I've addressed these forums before, the only other thing not 100% is a little jumpy tv output and a high frequent noise when I turn on tv-out. The noise is most probably some earhing/self-condensating (dunno the english word) problem. The jumpyness is most likely the NTSC->PAL conversion (not enought frames).

But, that's probably not relevant at all.

Since TurboGL works it's really not a big deal when playing games etc. but it would be nice to get opengl work throughout the whole system.
