  • UT trouble

I get some strange lighting errors when using high detailed textures in UT (version 4.32)

Something that happened when I got a new processor and mainboard (Abit kt7-raid & Athlon-thunderbird-850MHz)
    example: http://www.brillianet.com/test/gorkha/Image1.jpg
Is it UT or G400/drivers ?

    Gorkha,

It's not the G400/drivers. I see the same texture/lighting problems, but worse, in the same map at the same location with a GeForce2.

I generally don't run with the "detailed textures" set on, but I flipped the switch and gave it a whirl. There is some strange lighting going on that is not there with detailed textures turned off. I don't have a clue which piece (UT, or drivers, etc)is causing this issue.

I've got a system very similar to yours. Abit KT7 (vanilla), T'bird 800, G400Max, PD 6.10 drivers, DX8, UT 4.36 in 1024x768x32 with 32 bit Z buffer, High world and skin textures.

On a slightly (not really) related note, anyone know how to update to 4.32 from the 4.28 that ships with Live! X-Gamer 5.1 . It tells me wrong CD in drive when I try to use the update off epic's site.

Denty, I hate to tell you this, but there is one way to do so. You have to download the "no-delta" version of the 4.36 patch.
