Serious Sam Public Test #2 doesn't remember my settings?

Is it me or does the demo #2 not remember my video and audio settings everytime I rerun the game (exit the game and load the game)? It is a bit annoying to reconfigure everything.

I found out the demo's readme said the demo was tested with v6.11.014 beta driver. Is this driver available only for developers and not the public?

I wonder if my problems are related to this. I am using v6.10.013 from Matrox's Web site.

I got a good reply:

"Upon exiting driver crashes the game. And your settings are lost. You can fix it by switching to windowed mode before exiting. Simple as it is!"

I asked him if there was a console command to avoid this step.
