"an error has occured whilst loading the setup dll files
make sure the setup files setupres.dll , pdinst32.dll & pdinst16.dll are in the same directory than the setup.exe file
press ok to terminate the application "

all the requested .dll files are in the same folder

You don't install PD by running the setup !
You have to uninstall your previous drivers, ither from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs (Matrox software(remove only) ) or with this utility.
After that you reset, Windows detects your card and you install the new drivers

Or you go in Control Panel click on Display/Advanced/Adapter/Change and point Windows to the new drivers

yes, setup.exe is a program that is used when u install the drivers the manual way, its not meant to be executed directly...

i dont know why they still have it though, it confuses people, and i have never installed drivers successfully by running setup.exe

Well, setup.exe works for me everytime since the 6.XX series have arrived.
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

That is the same way I always installed my drivers, thru the setup program. It works everytime.

I've installed them on all three of my machines using the setup.exe without any problems.

I use the included setup.exe in beta 20x more than most people see in public releases. I have never had a problem just running setup.exe, and only 3 times in the last year, over dozens of drivers versions have I had to fully uninstall/reinstall. I normally just install over the previous version so I don't loose all my schemes/hotkeys, etc...

I never used the setup to install my drivers, as a matter of fact I never used the change option ither.
I've had my G400 for about 14 months and I always uninstalled the previous drivers, rebooted and installed the new ones.

What kind of hack job did you do to the drivers this time? You should let ppl know at least that much.
