  • 5.52 + TGL in winme is great! but win2k?

    Hi,

I read these forums yesterday and decided to install the recommended 5.52/tgl for winme, and now my Counter-Strike is a solid 72 fps at 1024x768. In Win2k in the same res, I get about 25-35, but I'm just using the latest drivers. What is the general consensus on the best win2k drivers for HL:CS?

No TurboGL for Win2K. I am using 5.33 Win2K drivers (latest as of this post). I get anywhere from 30-60fps at 1024x768 (I have capped fps to 60). Can you post your system specs? You can see mine in the signature.

      Hi,

I have a very similar system to you... 800mhz PIII/256 pc133 ram/g400 (not max)/win2k no sp1. However, for some reason HL always complains about the cdkey in win2k, but in ME it works fine.

Well my cd key had worked fine with WON for a few months.. it's just been acting up recently. Maybe the WON servers are crashing?

Never had a problem with CD Keys. I also run HL using a backup copy of the original, as the original CD is in bad shape, and I don't want to continue using it.
