  • MTSTU + MGATweak = daaam!

Don't fear! No troll this time!

Just thought I'd share this with my good friends at MURC

I've been using MGATweak for years, works great (Vanilla G400 @ 162/202/162 + memory tweaks). Recently I got Baldurs Gate 2 and yep, it fkd up... so I could either use Backward Compatibility = 1 (which means basically that ur cpu does all the work instead of the video card) or download Matrox's MTSTU Tweak utility and set it at 'Optimized for quality'

My greatest fear was the drop in FPS games I would get after setting it to opt. for quality. Actually, check this out!

Quake3, my custom demo(kinda like Q2 Crusher, VERY intense), 800x600
MGA Tweak settings, MTSTU not installed
    64.7 fps
MGA Tweak settings, MTSTU opt for speed
    65.6 fps
MGA Tweak settings, MTSTU opt for quality
    65.0 fps

So even With MTSTU opt for speed its still faster than with no MTSTU installed!!! I did not touch MTSTU's overclocking feature, but after looking at it, I noticed that it was set to 151%

anyway, if you're gaming, you might just want to install it, you might gain a few fps, even if you're not overclocking!!!

GM, 0.3fps is roughly the error any and all systems will show depending on what is running in the background... even if there is nothing.

        eh, true

though you will not lose performance by using MTSTU, even if its set with optimized for quality (or is it accuracy??)

oh, its the latest of MTSTU, v1.4 I think..
