you you need to reboot between the use of Real dualhead (with no 3d acceleration) and the use of other modes (with 3D acceleration). Let's hope this and other issues are just due to this being the first driver with real dualhead support

DH +HL not working in win2k
Hi, I just installed the 5.51 drivers for win2k. And now, when I want to start a game of TFC, it sais: OpenGl mode is not supported by your card. This even happend when I disable dualhead by deselecting 'extend my windows desktop onto this montor'.
help!In case it's a harware problem:
PIII-500@560, 256 MB, G400 MAX DH on, ABIT BH6, MX300
Win2K drivers: 5.52

You have to turn it off completely. Hrm.
If you think it IS off completely, then... this might be another game to add to the list of "games which don't work under 5.51".
*sigh*
- Gurm (running 5.33 and happy with them for now)

Hmm.. If I turn DH off, I have to reboot my PC. Didn't try that one. Don't like rebooting. But if it works, I'm not going to reboot my PC everytime I want to play a game of TFC or something.
That sucks.In case it's a harware problem:

Hey faran. that problem with that half-life's opengl could be because you have installed TurboGL which BTW, does NOT support win2k... I know it because it happened to me, and it took a while before I figured it out (win98/win2k dual boot)

There is hope:
The G400 driver that is included with Windows XP (build 2446) supports true dual-head AND Direct3D. U can run UT even with the second screen still showing that wonderful wallpaper.
Under XP, the Matrox W2K 5.51 drivers installs but tends to visit Dr.Watson when changing DH settings in Powerdesk. D3D indeed disabled. I like the included driver most

yes, that's alot of problems with nvidia cards, but the thing is 99% of them are just issues with motherboard drivers or other things that are entirely fixable. no, i never did like how matrox decided to halfass support opengl for some odd reason, but i dealt with it and stayed away from opengl. i just learned to accept it tho. matrox doesnt make gaming cards. i think they are fools for not seeming to want to make gaming cards, but that's how they feel. it'd be nice if nvidia and ati had some real competition, now that 3dfx is out of the picture the only thing left is matrox(the kyro2 is a baby in this game, and the savage chipset has always been crap)
i'm sure that if matrox did feel like doing things such as full opengl supprot and the like they could take a nice huge chunk of the market from nvidia, not to mention we would see alot less 400 dollar and up 'consumer' cards on the market
