I have the following system specs:
667Mhz P3
Tyan Trinity 400 mobo
256MB PC133 RAM
G400 MAX Dual Head
Soundblaster Live! sound card
Ethernet card
internal modem
Anyhow, my problem is my system will run AGP 2x no problem. I can run most applications under 4x AGP, but there are a few games that I have problems with running 4x AGP, namely Mechwarrior 4 and Shogun. In both of these games I can play them for about 30 min. to an hour before I get a freeze or the graphics card goes nuts. If I set it back to AGP 2x, the problem goes away. I have tried both the newest Matrox certified and uncertified drivers, and had the same results.
Does anyone have any idea as to what the problem could be?
BTW, I know in most cases there is no difference in performance, Shogun for example, but in MW4, the game runs much more smoothly for me under 4x AGP.
Thanks,
John Richert
