PSYCHOMAN, I´m afraid that even if you buy more RAM or tweak your card, things aren´t going to go any faster FPS-wise, at least in a significant way. Games will be smoother, but they will stay slow, and to have decent speed you´ll have to keep the resolution low.

I´m afraid it´s upgrade time. A better card would help a little bit (A TNT2 for gaming only, you would lose 2D quality), but with your Celeron 333, a G400 or faster card is a bit of a waste, because you need horsepower to back up the graphics card.

I play cs pretty well - only it takes alot of time to load cause of the ram but after load it plays ok.

If you are not going to upgrade your hardware try to limit the memeory HL needs. There are some simple ways to do so. For ex, add -noipx to your command line and save the IPX overhead. But a complete list of tuning tips for HL/CS can be found here:

Most of these commands are to be used in the console. All start options can be used in the autoexec.cfg or the command line in you link.

And i just remembered something from my past: add the following command to your command line in your HL link

-heapsize xxxxxx

Where xxxxx is the amount of RAM you want to allocate i strongly advise to set it at least to 320000 (roughly 32MB) but you can experiment for the best setting.

I've found out why the two intros don't work on my computer! Its because i didn't have the video compression installed (via the control panel) - i went here for the info: http://www.halflifehq.com/independen...y%20with%20HL?

Also, before I kept crashing cs after *connecting* to a server! I've found out when i set it to d3d from ogl it works (online that is)- might help anyone who has this problem (the minority with the g200s).

Does anyone think its cool that cs has a much better networking system than other games?? Games like hl and Q3 can never be played proplerly over a modem because of too much lag! But on cs it is very possible!

Have you tried cacheman? Download it from www.tweakfiles.com it should propably be able to free up a few megs of ram!

I've already been using cacheman, for quite a long time!

Is the commando 550 a USEFUL weapon?? It seems kinda shit to me. Especially with the crosshairs removed in cs1.1(when not in zoom).

Surely one the best weapons are the colt, right?! Short bursts at a long distance are still pretty powerful.

I don't understand why aks are so powerful except someone told me that it has a upwardly recoil making headshots easier.

Anybody use pistols other than desert eagle???

All I need is a deagle, I'll kill for the rest. They messed up my MP5 though, and I'm kind of annoyed about that. I don't like the colt as a long-distance weapon though. I'd probably rather have a scout.

Also, why did they take away the crosshairs, but leave them in on the knife? wtf.
