Matrox g450 + CS = ?

Hi guys
Right now i'm looking in building a completely new server for myself. And so I aimed to buy the Matrox g450 tv card, because of the good 2d quality, which i could need for graphic editing. But I have read in many reviews saying that the 3d perfomance is disappointing. But is it really so bad? Is it still possible to play cs (800*600) fluently?

I have a G450 32 MB on my Duron 900 system. I play CS at 1024x768x32bit and the fps does not drop below 30. Average is probably around 45 in gameplay. I notice the effect of lag more than slow framerates, so on my cable connection any sucking I do is purely my own fault. :P
