  • Overdraw.....

I'm curious if anyone's found games that have a larger than normal amount of overdraw? I just read a post in the Matrox Hardware forum about Dragoth Moor having lots of overdraw and that being why it runs so well on a Kyro2 even though the Kyro lacks T&L (which the demo supposedly was made for.)

I'm curious if anyone has found a Kyro running a game of theirs much better than the G400 and if the situation could be similar?

I'm really curious about NOLF. NOLF runs pretty choppily on my P3-1000 w/ G400 @ 177/200 at 800x600x16 with max details. Is this overdraw? Does a Kyro run this game exceptionally better?

I'm running it at 1024x768x32 on my Kyro/Duron 900. The game menu is slow as hell, but the game runs ok.

This is on the tech demo of course, but the game looks like good fun, might pick that one up

About NOLF: I haven't read anything about it but i am pretty sure that NOLF has a memory leak. Why? I just played it through on 800*600*16 on a Athlon Classic 600/128MB and a G400/16MB. After a while, maybe 2 or 3 hours, it starts to get choppy. Exiting the game and starting a utility like MemBooster or stuff shows a memory usage of aroud 90%. Clear memory or reboot and NOLF runs like a charm again.

Then maybe it's only my setup. But try it.

        Regards
