G400 Screen shifting with Hitman, Diablo2

I have a G400-DH, and I've recently installed the Hitman Demo, and full Diablo2. For some reason, both games shift the viewing area to the left, forcing me to adjust the picture on the monitor so the whole thing is visible again. After exiting either game, the Desktop is, of course, shifted to the right....What causes this? I have Unreal and HalfLife installed, and neither one is giving me that problem...all games are set to use Direct 3D.

Possibly the games are adjusting the monitor refresh rates via DirectX.

Do you have an onscreen display for a readout of actual resolution and refresh ?

Take a look at that and search for possible setup flags within those games.

diablo2 doesn't change the refresh rate, but it changes the resolution to 800x600 in menus and 640x480 for the actual game.. maybe you could use your matrox monitor config to adjust the picture position at those settings

Try using a Matrox Monitor Profile and see if that does the trick for you.
