  • New drivers (651) and UT

    Hi all,

I just wanted to post because I have a G400 running on win 98SE, currently running PD 610. The latest driver release claims to stop sudden slowdown in UT, and I was windering if ne1 knew what this was refering to. Is it fixing a problem that occurs between releases 610 and 651, or will I benefit from this?

    Thx in advance

I was using those drivers the other night when I did this forums.murc.ws/ubb/Forum4/HTML/004899.html and I did not notice any unusual slowdowns in UT. And I played for a couple of hours straight.

more fool me...I dont play half life so I cant comment, sorry. Also I havent tested q3 either.

But in UT Im sure I got a few more frames. But Im constantly tweaking my config, so it could be that I turned off a features since I last tested. oh well...either way there isnt much in it, I think Ill stick to the latest drives

Oh I forgot to mention....in UT I still cant use the latest epic ogl dll with the normal icd, only turbo gl. With the normal icd I get no textures (and still no performance boost LOL!)

I tried to play UT in OGL, but my system just won't hack it.

              Athlon 700 classic @850, G400 vanilla OC'd to 105%.

Just too choppy to play in 1024x768. I stick with D3D @ 1024x768x32bit. Medium Detail.
