<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">It's official, Activision has acknowledged the existence of the sequel to the game that was violence incarnate, Soldier of Fortune. Raven will be at the helm again, and they'll be using the Quake III Engine as a base this time around, so it's already sounding like a hit. Also, John Mullins will once again be the main character, so expect some continuity. Here's a clip of the official press release:
"In Soldier of Fortune 2 players once again assume the role of John Mullins, a military consultant working for the top-secret anti-terrorist group known as The Shop. In the game, players must tackle a wide-range of missions from hostage rescue and intelligence gathering, to search-and-destroy. Level design in Soldier of Fortune 2 is flexible enough to allow for multiple styles of play. Gamers can "hit 'em hard" with a frontal assault or use stealth weapons for a subtle approach.
Soldier of Fortune 2 brings unparalleled detail to PC gaming with vivid damage modeling and animations, accurate reproductions of actual weapons and missions taken from international hotspots including Prague, Colombia, Hong Kong and Kamchatka. In some cases mission maps or objectives are inspired by the experiences of the actual John Mullins, a former Special Forces officer and military "consultant."</font>
